Bree Byl, AMFT

AMFT #145652 under the supervision of Dr. Jacqueline Mack-Harris, CA LMFT#102490

Hello, I'm Bree, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #145652 dedicated to fostering healing and growth in individuals, couples, and families. With a diverse background in psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and specialized training in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University (HIU), I strive to offer a comprehensive approach to therapy.

Currently, I serve as the Program Coordinator for the MFT department at Hope International University, where I am dedicated to shaping the next generation of therapists through mentorship and guidance, as well as working therapeutically with active HIU students. In addition to my administrative role, I maintain an active clinical practice under the supervision of Dr. Jacqueline Mack-Harris, CA LMFT#102490.

In therapy, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their emotions, strengthen their relationships, and cultivate resilience. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration, and I tailor interventions to meet the unique needs and goals of each child, individual, couple, and family.

Whether you're facing trauma, relationship issues, or personal challenges, I am here to provide compassionate support drawing from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities. This includes Experiential Therapy, which focuses on engaging clients in hands-on activities to facilitate emotional expression and insight; Emotionally Focused Therapy, based on Attachment Theory, which emphasizes understanding and processing emotions to promote healing and relational growth; Internal Family Systems (IFS), a powerful approach that helps clients cultivate self-awareness, understanding, and compassion by exploring the dynamics of their internal "family" of thoughts, emotions, and parts; and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapy for processing and resolving traumatic experiences, distressing memories, and negative beliefs. EMDR utilizes bilateral stimulation to facilitate the brain's natural healing processes, providing the opportunity for profound emotional healing and symptom relief.

Outside of my professional pursuits, I am a video game enthusiast, I enjoy a good book or television show, and a competitive or casual game of tennis. I am passionate about mental health advocacy and believe in the importance of promoting access to quality therapy services for all.

Thank you for considering me as a partner on your journey towards healing and self-discovery. I look forward to the opportunity to support you in reaching your goals and living a more fulfilling life.
